What's the next stop today?
Today we are heading to the Otago Peninsular.

And these are our targets today!

Otago Peninsula tours (ELM wildlife tour) present exciting, memorable wildlife encounters. Most of the overseas visitors have described this wildlife experience as the highlight of their visit to New Zealand. Absolutely unrivalled, up close viewing of Royal albatross, Yellow-eyed and Blue Penguins, NZ Sealions and NZ fur seals and many other waders and seabirds.

This tours depart from Dunedin City in the afternoon and return around six hours later in the evening. It cost $89 for student. Tours include lagoon and coastal birdlife and a visit to the royal albatross colony. 

Albatross is the largest world's seabirds. They are long distance flyer, can fly up to 1000km per day. When the young albatross able to fly, they will fly 4-6 years to South America,then only fly back to their home to find partners. Mother albatross will fly around 3-4 days and return to feed their kids.
Unfortunately, it is not windy and we cant c a Royal albatross at Taiaroa Head. The best time to see albatross here is during summer because they actually find their partners here and gonna have a 'party' there. Luckily, we saw it at somewhere else. =)

New Zealand Fur Seal. Fur seal prefer rocky shores close to their food supply.

Baby seal nursing. 

Blue Penguin are the smallest of the world penguins and are frequently resting in their nest burrows. When ashore at night they can be very noisy.

Yellow-eyed penguin are the rarest of the world's 18 species of penguins and only found in NZ.

They tends to go to the sea during day to feed and return to their roosting areas late in the afternoon.

 Hooker Sealion are the rarest of the world's five species of sealions and are endemic to NZ. Sea lions are highly agile in the water and can dive over 200meters deep.
